Replacing Locking rollers

Post by OGRE »

I was shooting my TNW MG34 today and broke one of the locking rollers. One of the 4 rollers broke in half.
Questions for the experts:
I've fired 2500 rounds through my gun,is this a rare occurance ?
Taking the old rollers off was easy,What is the procedure for installing new ones ?

I see the groove with wire clip on the outside rings but don't want to screw anything up forcing assembly.
All advice appreciated.

its easy just make sure the spring grips the bolt then push on the roller if the spring is not tight the roller will bind or you cant get it on

Thanks.I guess the springs aren't tight. I will see if I can re-tension them or see how the replacements fit when they arrive.
