922r

No it does not. 922r aplies to assault rifles. The '34 is not on the list. It is not an assault rifle.

uh....you may want to read 922r again....it has nothing to do w/ "assault" rifles...that was the AWB...922r is all about importing sporting vs non-sporting and ...the mg42 is not on the "list" but is curently considered a rifle not a firearm so you have to count.....

however the MG34 is currently classified as a firearm so no it does not require you to count parts....that is untill the batfe decides to reclassify it like they just did to the 42

First....not MG34 semi...."SA34" "firearm".

In all reality.....you/we may have to ask BATF Tech. Branch for a "Determination-Letter" as a "Group" on the MG42 Board.

This changes from person to person that you talk to at BATF ...... and changes with each different reply individuals receive from BATF. I believe that there is already a long thread about this subject in the "Legalities" section.

I seem to remember reading that Salt6 replied that this is being worked on (maybe for the group....but don't quote me on this).

Be safe, RichardS.

Gotcha, I just noticed TNW still had mg34 in the name of their version , I am new to the 34 side of the site, will refer to it as SA34 from here out.

I dont know why I didnt think to look in the legal section DOH! Im lazy so i just searched for 922r and mg34 occurence in the same message and didnt get any returns. Will look over there now and check it out. Thanks

Before I am called a fool, I'd like to point out this discussion. http://www.panzer46.net/mg42board/viewt ... 586249daa3
Don't have a clue if the link works, but it's a firearm, not a rifle.

that link is to a decision that has been overturned and now the 42 is a "rifle"
