Here is a link to a complete Portuguese contract MG-34 with everything matching and still in the shipping crate. If you want the best of the best here it is and it will only cost you 11K.

Yes, it's a nice set. I remember when it sold on G/B. But why doesn't IMA go all the way...their stuff always seems to be missing something. This set is mounted on a cheesy aluminum receiver with setscrews to hold in the buffer. The trigger return spring isn't there, and one of the male pins on the trigger group is missing. C'mon guys, it's all in the details...Phil

Well Phil -- they might say the price is high enough already. If they use a nice dummy receiver then the price might need to go up another thousand. However your point Phil is well noted.
That all said in some small ways we are lucky that we get to see stuff like this. Really this is the only one of these with everything in a full set that I've seen. I know that I'm going to be going over pics on another day and time when I'm not as busy and tired and compare to the transit box that I own. I think that some of the wood pieces in mine are not correct. This one is setting a goal somewhat. Something to reach for. As much as I can't afford to own a set up as nice as this at least I get to see the pics. Thanks IMA. Have not checked other notes but if the statement that it's one of 500 is true then think of how rare that set is that we get to look at. Free of charge I might add.

I wonder if they have the numbers matching receiver stashed away somewhere?????? Tastefully demill it and throw it in and what a deal it would be.

Remember in order to bring the mg34 into the USA the receiver has to be cut up. Required by law. That said keeping the matching number cut up receiver with it would have been great. Opp's not done. Still a lot of interesting stuff to be learned here. Enjoy.

Well boys I purchased the kit and should be delivered this week. It will be matched up to a NFA receiver and returned to full auto. How often do you see a full auto with all the attachments like this. It will be a keeper in my collection.

WAY TO GO!! RaRaRa.
Should be a super add to your collection!!
Would love to have you take pictures of it and I'll be happy to make it into a Saved Thread about one to the best known set ups out there.
GREAT JOB!!!
Really wish that I had the money to do something like that. I have one of the boxes and three matching number barrel carriers and that's it. I believe that my case has been painted and that the wood pieces inside have been moved or removed so would love to see some great pics that would help me restore mine.
Yours is and always will be one of a kind. WOW Again. Love that your going to add a full auto receiver to it. Hope that you use other spare barrels while shooting and save those matching barrels. Or whatever you want to do.

Many thanks. This will be my 8th mg/smg and 2nd belt gun. I have always liked the 34 and 42 and decided after my colt anm2 I wanted a 34. My problem is when I jump in its normally in a big way, but love the history. Spoke directly with Alex at IMA and he was great to deal with. Market being what it is if you add up all the options you have on this kit it has allot of value.

Some folks might argue the total cost of everything. Myself -- IT'S A -- ONE - OF - A - KIND...
Just wish that I had that kind of money. Again way to go!!!
Hope that you will share pics with us of everything for this website.

yes please share some close pictures when you get that amazingly complete kit, I had thought about buying it for a long while since my mg34 (nfa) isnt matching anyway, but I bought the wife a f/a mini uzi instead (and shes awesome enough to love it), impressive kit though especially considering the offerings available for kits these days.

Well got my transport box out and was reviewing it today. It sure looks the same. Mine has been re-painted and a couple of top pieces of wood have been removed and lost, also one board that slides in. So any numbers that were on the box outside wee painted over and lost. When I bought the box it still had three barrel carriers. It's possible that they may have been re-painted also. All three have the number of 1420. All are stamped 1943 and are of the same type.
Numbers from what they stated in the IMA ad the contract was for 500 mg34's therefore guessing that they all had boxes we have a range of 500.
Now the above has number 7393, so we could guess a range of 7000 to 7500 might be correct. On my barrel carriers the "1" does not look like a German slanted "1" so I'm guessing that if mine were re-painted that the "7" could have been re-painted as a "1". If so then 7420 is only a few numbers away from 7393, to be exact just 27 numbers away.
So anyway what is the range of numbers and does anyone have anything in that 7000 to 7500 range or a better serial number range??
I'll be starting another thread on this later.

Update on my above post and ima statement -- the mg34/mg42 book by Folke states the contract was for 1,000 not 500. It was shipped in two lots, 1 with 400 and other with 600.
According to Folke's book there were two different serial numbers. The normal one and then one that was added on the top plate for the contract.
Anyone have one of these mg34's with the re-number and new lettering on the top cover?? Love more info.

If you need any detailed pics of 7393 just let me know. I did have another non-numbered transit chest that when lined up with 7393 match board for board and nail for nail (even the directions the nails had been bent over). Funny part about it is that I was putting this non-numbered check up for sale with a non-matching parts kit and IMA found out I had it. Long story short they purchased the non-numbered chest and kit and will build it up and put up on IMA's site.
