This may prove more difficult than assumed, all the regulars on this site re-welded the cut receivers. Some even believed it was virtually impossible to machine a Philly, let us see if someone comes out of the woodwork to help, but do not be surprised if you do not get any responses here.

MG34.com had a saw cut MG34 receiver at the Creek. Looked nice. They hadn't sold it by Sunday afternoon.

It can be done, first problem is getting the hole bored through, its nit a case of simply drilling or boring, be ase the top has been fattened it exposes the significant edge which a large drill will want to climb out of so a sacrificial plate needs to be fitted to support the drill or a piloted bit etc is needed.
Then, if you can find someone with a large enough wire cutter could cut the roller slots, or a specially made boring bar or cutter could carefully machine them out going down through the bolt slot along the top. A reweld is so much easier, to a degree

It may just have to stay a dummy reciever..
I talked to Phil Ord. and really didnt get to much help there.. They are pretty much out of the MG34 reciever business as available kits have dried up for the most part.

If anyone has any other ideas to utilize a Philly, let me know. I really appreciate the feedback

Thanks
Bill

I know this is old, but If I can offer my two pence here... Sell it.

I sold mine for $800.00 I believe or $850.00, I believe it is in the FS section still. (Was a while back).

I then bought a nice torch cut receiver from Ima-usa.com, shipped it to Stan at project guns and had it re-welded for $800.00.

Best investment I've ever made.

Should you choose to muscle through this, I can only offer you my respect. I believe someone was saying it needed to be "Key cut" or use a "key cutter" etc...

Try throwing that around on Weaponeer.net, they have some home homebuilders who may be willing to help you out/offer their services. I'm not sure the legalities of this though.

I was in the same boat about 6 months ago, I hope this aids you in your journey.

You may be able to get more than $800 for the Phil-ordnance receiver as they don't make them anymore. There are plenty of folks in "anti-gun" states and/or cannot afford an firing receiver, who would shell out some serious cash for a receiver to complete their parts kits.

Best of Luck!
