I"m working on a small manual which explains exactly how the MG34 trigger group works, but I have a question.

The trigger lever is what holds back the bolt when the MG34 bolt is pulled rearward. When the trigger lever lowers by pulling the trigger, the bolt is released.

Is the trigger lever mounted in the receiver, or mounted in the grip frame?

While I've had several MG34's apart, exactly where the trigger lever is mounted isn't something I'm confident enough to put in writing without checking. I don't want the manual to be wrong. I think it's mounted in the receiver, but I want to be sure. If I knew it all, I wouldn't need to work for a living.

There are two levers in the receiver, one does indeed hold the bolt back but I find it weird its called a trigger lever and not some variety of sear

There is a lever in the trigger assembly that rises when you pull the trigger and it trips the sear that releases the bolt.........at lease that is the way it looks to me.

In the original poster and in the manuals, the German word for the lever which holds and releases the bolt is called the trigger lever. In one manual, the very top rear corner of the trigger lever is identified as the sear. It is an area of the trigger lever, and not a separate part.

Thanks for helping out, I felt super guilty but I am at least a hundred miles from where my weapon sleeps to check it out, after all the help Jbaum willingly gives to us, I am relived that it is sorted out.

I agree it will be another quality manual.
