How do I remove this farkin thing?

Cut a slot into the business end of an old screwdriver, the width of the end of the visible screw. Insert that cut end into the slots in the nut, then use another screwdriver on the other side of the grip. You may have to clean out the slots in your picture, as well as use some Kroil to get the screw loose.

Some of us here already have our screws loose.

That's what I did. Works well on mg42 grip panels also.

I was thinking about trying something like that....I was about 10 seconds from trying the old, "Throw it as hard as you possibly can against the floor/and or/ wall, while screaming like a banshee" technique.

Remember when using the ""while screaming like a banshee" technique"" always video it and then utube so hopefully the hits will raise enough money to pay for another one. Or just post and ask us and we might have an answer for you. Wait that way is not as much fun.

after you get those two screws out the grip panel slides down...fyi

Caution - the screws in your photo are factory-staked. If you don't need to remove them, please don't. Original MG34 grip panels are rare, expensive, and brittle. They will have shrunk in size, and won't go back on after you remove them! If you feel you must, carefully drill out the staking before trying to remove the screws. Warm up the grip under hot water. If you're just curious as to what's under there, well, usually just grease. I'll send you some pictures! Best of luck....Phil

Thanks for the heads up, the grips are safely off. I took them off as I am converting the full auto internals to SA. I have to get the grip blued as well. *From what I can tell the trigger guard was blued as well?*
