Rare Parts Kit?

I think I got a rare find at the Creek. It's a bnz coded 1941 MG34 parts kit with matching serial numbers on the buttstock, top cover and barrel shroud. They didn't know what bnz was (nor that it had matching numbers) and had it marked for $50 LESS that their dot coded kits. Score! I think I'm going to turn this one into a rifle with a TNW recceiver and have them match the serial number.

Just out of curiosity, anyone know how rare or how common bnz coded kits are? Brian at BRP said that Steyr only made 34s for one year, 1941.

BTW, it's in a box somewhere at Fedex. I really, really hope they don't lose it.

I used to have a MP40 parts kit made by "bnz".The actual name of the company is listed in Daniel Musgraves "German Machine Guns" book but I can't find the book.

BNZ is Steyr-Daimler-Puch AG, Steyr, Austria.

Thanks. I found out it was Steyr while I was out the creek. The folks who were selling the kits thought bnz was Czech. I figured that was wrong from the get go. I guess they mixed bnz with Brno. I cannot explain why they had dot coded kits with bakelite buttstocks listed for $50 more than the kit I got.

I just didn't know if bnz was rare or not. Now that I am back at home, I will pull out one of my books and look it up. Do any of you guys run across bnz coded barrel shrouds with regularity?
