Probably Illegal MG-34 Receiver on Gunbroker
Re: Probably Illegal MG-34 Receiver on Gunbroker
Too late! If they ever decide that they want to look at my computer for any intent, they will already know what I intend.Pictures on my computers will be the least of the worries at that point.I 'intend' to look at the pictures. ---bil

I am pretty sure the ATF don't have jurisdiction in the UK, yet!
I was told about a live MP40 that a dealer in deac guns found in a flea market. He bought it and VERY quickly got it to a fire arms dealer who presented it to the police. They checked it out for criminal use and when it came back clean it was given back to the fire arms dealer for deactivation. If they guy the was selling it had been caught with it he would have got 5 years. An old lady recently went to prison because she took her deceased husbands war trophy pistol to the police station!!!!!

The only thing that helps me maintain my slender grip on reality is the friendship I share with my collection of singing potatoes.

It doesn't sound like they need the ATF in the UK. You have harsher laws as it is. However, I'll still be out that way in a month or so.longhorn109 wrote:I am pretty sure the ATF don't have jurisdiction in the UK, yet!

My English brother in law is amazed at the rights that Americans have when it comes to gun ownership here.

I know a guy who makes machine guns all the time using only a rat tail file, some string and a piece of bubble gum.Bil wrote:Too late! See what socialism has done to their minds? The poor bastards are barely cognisant of the fact that they are living under the boot!

"Rule, Britannia" ... "Britons never will be slaves" ... yeah, my ass.

God help them...

It is wise to be cautious, especially in the field of possessing semi-beltfed guns since the case law is kind of murky at best, but you really should be okay with the pictures.
Kind of like a priest with a GAP Kids catalog on his hard-drive, no "intent" but it would raise lots of questions
I would however strongly recommend that anyone with an Mg34 receiver on the workbench have Pirate’s semi-tutorial printed up and near the area. As for the poor bidder (who did not make the reserve before the auction was pulled) now he may have some explaining to do as to intent

how can they prove when the cuts were done just say it was an early demill cant prove other wise
Re: Probably Illegal MG-34 Receiver on Gunbroker
I do hope you were joking about pictures being constructive intent. Thats like Pictures of women being intent of rape.12thWaffenSS wrote: DO NOT DOWNLOAD THE PHOTOS. If the ATF(E) ever seizes your computer and finds those pics, that could easily be viewed as "constructive intent" to build a machine gun.
Not worth it.
As far as the above post about when the cuts were made. There are some out there that say anything not cut to current regs are illegal MGs. I don't buy that but it may not stop the ATF from saying so. Then again the old dewats were not considered MGs until the ATF decided to considered them so and if not registered are total illegal, even if they were perfectly legal at the time.
