I currently have a PreMay DOT 45 that was in the Finish military as it has a SA engraved on many parts, but it is still all matching.

paid $18,000 for mine in 2004. That is a lot of money, but I went to the bank and took out a loan. Some people have a car note, motorcycle note, boat note, etc. I didn't buy a new car and had a gun note. You don't have to be rich to have one of these, you just have to decide what you want and don't want, and then make a decision.

Ed,
Very true. I took out a loan at the credit union in 1983 for my MG42. $2000 was a lot of money for a 2nd Lt back then.
At the time I thought I was half insane for doing that but now I think it was the right thing to do.

Unfortunately I traded that one in 1987. Traded what I traded for then last year for my current MG34. So I guess you could say I still have $2000 in it now.

I have a C&R mostly-matching (receiver, jacket, top cover) dot 43 example.
Runs perfectly in both 8mm and 7.62 NATO, for which I made a conversion set.
