Receiver ejection port door wear

This MG34 receiver shows signs of a LOT of firing...the ejection-port door has eaten into the receiver from the vibration, leaving a deep gouge visible in the pictures. In spite of it's use, the destroyed piece is still beautifully blued!
The receiver is a section from an earlier "regler" unit, obtained through the courtesy of "42rocker".
Has anyone ever seen one with this much, or more, wear?...Phil
