receiver/barrel jacket fit
I found a really great condition cra barrel jacket no pits and it was either reblued or has complete original bluing, so naturally I want to use it with my NFA reciever as its barrel jacket isnt anywhere near as pretty as this one is and is mismatched anyway, my problem is that the receiver/barreljacket lockup is a bit sloppy. as in there is a little bit of bobble at the point they meet when assembled. what kind of problems could this cause and is there anyway to adjust the tightness of the fit? I really want to use this jacket if at all possible!
Re: receiver/barrel jacket fit
Hello, mine always seem to fit too tightly.....Does the looseness seem to come from the pin side or the latch side? You could swap over the push-pin or latch from the shroud that fit tightly. Is there a visible space between the barrel jacket and receiver? Is the receiver a virgin original, or a rewat? If the receiver pin or hole in the shroud is oversize, well, you have a wartime gem that had "the hell shot outa' it"! Congrats....Phil

the receiver is a registered dewatt, and the looseness is in the underside of where the receiver lockup seems tight enough on the top but it bobbles on the bottom. a gap cant be seen but it physically bobbles up and down a little
