MG34 Reweld Service

I am currently doing an MG42 80% reweld service and would like to offer the same for the MG34.

This is what I have come up with:

I would weld in the F/A sear hole in the receiver and then add a bolt block, gripstick block and a charging handle block. I would then weld the pieces together and finish only the outside. I would also do the bolt mods as part of the service.

The end builder would dremel and file the blocks off, Dremel the inside welds so you can attach the buttstock and then fit the cocking handle & bolt channels to complete the build. TNW semi parts will "drop in" to the bolt and gripstick. Make sure you are 922r compliant and you are good to go.

As delivered the receiver will not fit any parts without tools & time. The Semi Auto mod to the receiver will be done and the bolt will also be modified to not work with a F/A sear. If you want to do a dummy built, just clean the butstock threads and charging handle slot.


I am thinking of pricing the service around $550.

Oh gee thanks. Just when I thought I was just about done building kits, someone has to offer this service. If a MG-34 kit arrives on my doorstep, I'm in danger of Ivan the Terrible(my wife in a bad mood) "fried in a giant skillet" solution to my kit buying. Me, not the kits.
OT, but what do you think of welding up an RPD receiver. And no I don't have one. But I've been thinking about it.

I think I am going to focus on the MG34, MG42, DP28, Bren and AK's for now.

I'm interested in a Bren and MG42 semi reweld if you are still doing them? One MG42 is torch cut the other is saw cut. My bren kit is a 3 cut kit...I've had them for years and they are just sitting around taking up space.
