TNW Range ready for range today

Post by kpaintner »

I finally have everything completed and back together with my TNW receiver. I purchased the receiver from them and had them do the bolt and gripstick modifications. I am taking it to the range this morning. I will post a report and pictures when I get back. If looks, fit and finish are any indication, this beast should run like a champ! I greased it up last night and I worked the bolt quite a bit to "break it in". I know the tolerances are much tighter on this gun compared to my WLA Mg42 (53), but it is really smooth! Much smoother than than MG42. When I pull the bolt back on the TNW set up...it is as smooth as silk! Really impressive. Heavy trigger pull as reported by other people. Hopefully I will still be as impressed when I get back.

Ok...I got it out and had a problem with the shells jamming. Easy fix..they were getting hung up in the feed ramp. Brought it home and polished up the feed ramp and removed all the edges. Took it back out and my son and I put three belts through it with only a couple of misfeeds. Last belt ran perfect. We shot Romy, 50's Yugo and 70's Yugo...it ate all...no real preference.

Enjoy the pics.

thanks for the update.

Glad to know some minor work was all that was required to get things running smoothly.

The 34 definatly has its look. The 53/42 is the next piece for me to acquire and looking forward to it...but if I somehow win the lottery and money is no object...I definatly would get a 34 sooner more then later!
