MG34/42 Baket can and carrier frame painting

Post by treadmill »

I am in the process of repainting some basket cans and carrier frame. Do I have to bake it in an oven after.....if so what temp. and for how long? Have bought a can or German original colour paint and want to give this a try. Do I have to remove all paint and use a primer??

Remove all paint. Bead blast if possible. Prime with red oxide let dry and paint with the original color you have. Bake in the oven at 150 degrees for 3 hours.

Why not park instead of using red primer (if its available)?

Originally they did not park this kit, red primer and top coat colour of choice, once it starts to scuff a bit, looks the buisness.
