I was hoping someone could direct me to "the best" reference book or materials on the MG34. I was hoping to learn more about accesories that were issued for or with the weapon, as well as the various mounts and MG tactics.

Unless you're looking for original manuals translated to English, the best reference source is Folke Myrvang's MG34/MG42 reference book from collectorgrade publications. You can find it on ebay too.
