Last firing session my TNW MG34SA started firing Full auto bursts. Usually 4-8 rounds. I pulled the bolt expecting to see a problem with the sear and instead noticed the firing pin tip protruding from the bolt face while the bolt was cocked . Of course I though "Broken firing pin" Removing the pin I find it is a two piece assembly. The small front part fits into the cupped end of the rear part. There is a hole through both I assume that a pin would go through to join them. NO pin or pieces thereof to be found. I've read here that the TNW gun uses original pins. My spares are all one piece. Did TNW redesign theirs to two pieces ? Did the germans do it ?
Is there supposed to be a pin to join them ? Anyone familliar with the subject I would enjoy any answers.I put an original pin in for now. Sorry no pictures. I still don't have a digital camera.
