I shipped my mg 34 ( DOT 44 ) kit to TNW last week for them to build. I know several fellows here have recently
received their completed guns and was curious as to the turn around time.

I sent the parts set via UPS and they got it on 12/13/05, So it took them less than three weeks. Iguess they worked through the hollidays!

Now that I am an old fart, with no hope of getting one of those planes I can at least have a period piece from that era.
I bought my Class Three stuff when it was much cheaper, and unfortunately I moved to a Class Three unfriendly county.
It would be too expensive, too complicated to get a full auto 34 now.
With the 34 on the Lafette, I would get within 75% of the real thing, at one tenth the price.

I know what you mean in some respects. My flying instructor was a WWll B-17 pilot. My favorite plane was the P-51 Mustang. We would talk for hours about flying the '17 and '51. He told me he had flown a P-51 once and had a friend who owned an operational one. I never gave it much thought until one day there was a fly-in at the local airport. As I pulled up there sat his friend's P-51. It wasn't what I would call a totally "vintage" warbird like you see on the History Channel but it was close enough for me. I spent the better part of the day going over that plane. Finally the offer came to take her up. I couldn't do it. I was afraid something would happen as I didn't have many hours as PIC. Anyhow, I got to see and sit in one and I will never forget it. On a final note I also finally got to see a B-17.
