Booster flash hider cleaning tip
Here's a tip for you guys on keeping the front end cleaning chores as easy as possible. The tough part of cleaning is getting that "hard as glass" carbon build up off the inside of the booster cone. It gets other places too, but this fixes the problem for me. Use some spray graphite in a dri-lube formula. The graphite suspended in penetrating oil will not work. Once you have those parts squeeky clean, give them 6 or so coats of the dri-lube. This soft layer of graphite will not blow off when fireing, but will allow the glassy deposits to knock off with a soft wooden dowl or some such object. No more scrapeing with the old screwdriver makeing more scratches for the stuff to stick to and anchor itself even more tightly. Hope this helps, I spray the whole area down heavily and geting the dirt out is so much easier. It will wash off with oil, so its not for long term storage as it won't prevent rust.
