Below is a message that was sent to me, but I don't know enough about the 34 to diagnose the problem.\
I have an original premay sample MG34 I picked up back in February. Well I ended up having to go out of state for a month so I oiled up my MG’s including the 34 and put them in VCI bags before I left.
I can’t remember how exactly I did it as it’s been a month since I left, but I *think* while doing that cleaning, I believe I cocked back my full auto MG34 with the safety on or at least partially engaged.
The safety will wiggle when depressing it but will not move either way when trying to actuate it.
Trying to cock the bolt as standard or via moving it by hand does nothing. I removed the trigger group, and that did nothing as well.
My question is, can I remove the safety without damaging it, in its current position if I can't get the charging handle off as its full rearward travel is blocked by the stuck bolt? Is there something simple I’m missing?
Have you ever heard of a problem like this/equally do you have any recommendations on what to try?
Any guidance would be most appreciated!

Re: MG34 help
Not yet my cup of tea, I'm also learning.
But I would try the following as I don't believe it will hurt but might help out and get things working.
I would love to see pics without the copyright, but.
Looking at the pic with the bolt handle in it. I would pull out the pin (has "U" shaped head) just to the left or towards the front of the safety, CAREFULLY as there is a spring under that Main Sear lever. This will release the sear lever which might be the item causing the binding problem. Then review everything and I hope this will allow everything to work out.
As I wrote this, I got a receiver part out and reviewed everything and think that it will help out. Worse case you might have to put everything back together again, but.
I have had problems with the safety lever and pulling the bolt back before.
Good Luck
