MG 34 tripod

I am fairly new to the MG 34 so I am unsure of the differences (other than date of manufacture). I would probably go the least expensive route, but am open to advice.
Many thanks,
Eric

The differences are quite noticeable, so if you want to stay with WWII equipment for the original look, it will cost a bit more. However, it will retain and increase in value over time much faster, so it's worth it in the long run. I don't know where you can get one offhand, but the guys on this forum are extremely helpful and someone may eventually locate one for you.

I would like to stay with WW2 vintage, I believe...where would be a good place to see the differences in the wartime and postwar tripods?

I've never seen a post war MG34 tripod - Maybe I've been missing out - Where or who has them and can you post a photo?

Clarify...

Post by Feldwebel 34 »

I guess I should clarify that I was actually speaking of an A/A tripod as opposed to a Lafette tripod. I have seen the A/A tripod for sale at IMA and also the post war 'MG 42 tripod modified for the MG 34' at I/O. There is a big price difference! Is the one from IMA authentic? I would love to get a Lafette 34, but they seem to be out of my reach right now...

Eric
