Hi,
I am new to the site, actually joined in 2008 but never posted. Got into the 1919a4 but I really want a MG42 or M53. Missed out on the Wiselite Arms m53. IF anyone has one for sale please contact me.
Thanks
Wally

Wow, I had no idea about the problems with the Wiselite m53's. I was upset when they quit making them. I had just bought a m53 kit, but I am not a builder. I have them build a semi sten Mk III for me. It runs great.

Oak knows this stuff inside and out.
However if you want a WLA53 and are willing to deal with the growing pains of learning how to tweak it, I would contact any number of places happy to sell them in this economy. Last I knew SOG had them for around $2.2K maybe $2.4K, but their customer service is incredible. Make sure you can return it to the seller, like SOG, if you get a dud.
The other, and cheapest option is to buy the 1919a4 style m42/m53 rear receiver from Weapon’s Guild, pop it together, weld it to your shroud, add the semi mods (grip/bolt), cut the recoil spring, and use your kit.
The tough part is I am not sure the best place to get semi-mods done anymore, Project Guns may be swamped, BRP offers excellent mods but I am not sure if Brian is out of stock.
Just watch out for Gunbroker with this item, you may be buying someone else’s headache if you buy a WLA m53 there.

Thanks Guys, learned from the best ( fellow members here )

)
BRP has a lot of the semi auto parts. I still think he is out of the bolts, but I do have a few kicking around.
It may seem overwhelming at first,

but if I my very first semi auto build was a mg-42 then it can't be that hard. The darn thing even worked! ! I have learned much since then. I didn't keep that monstrosity thou.

With the cheap kits out there and the availability of the de-milled receivers and semi auto parts, why not. Just buy two of everything. One to learn, the second to keep. Read everything you can before you start. Lay out the parts and figure out how everything works. Keep notes while building the first one, writing down mistakes and better ideas, keep working on your notes when test firing and tweaking, then read up some more, read your notes and then built your second one. Nothing like having one you built, but be warned, once you have the bug you will be constantly looking for something new to build and the next thing you know you have a large collection hiding under your bed ( just ask Bill ), I don't recommend keeping them at work, mine all got stolen

Might have a few parts somewhere else tho..

Had a good lead on one, right price, but the deal went south. Even sold a Kimber 45 to assist with the purchase. I do have a lead on a mg34, higher but not sure. Sure would like to get one, but not going to go crazy over it. I may have to stick with my kit and build one.
