If you're going to refinish it to match the gun anyway, the MG3 barrel doors sold by RTG are a match to the WW2 doors. They don't have the oddball screw like the M53 doors have.
The come parkerized, but if you're going to reblue or paint the receiver, you could do the door at the same time for a perfect match.

Thanks for the inputs. Already have mg3 door fitted, looks perfectly fine in every way as originals.
Maybe im being to fussy but still like war time original.
