Need welder for SSR - 40/38 project

Post by KSH67 »

I need to find someone who has lots of experience tig welding receiver tubes back together. I am building one of the SSR40 kits as a pistol build. I am taking a different path though and making it as an MP38. As a result I needed to use a different tube. I got the tube and decided since it was a pistol to use the original trunion and barrel. I have the rear of the trunnion turned down to slip fit partially into the tube. I have it set up so that the weld line will be hidden under the front part of the mag well that wraps around the tube after it is welded. I need to find someone with lots of experience tig welding tube guns back together that can weld the original MP38 trunnion to my new made MP38 tube. I have not made any cuts to the MP38 tube at this point so it is still an "80%" tube.

I will be completing the turning down of the MP38 tube next weekend so that the overall length of the two pieces fitted together will be correct. I need to find someone that I can send it to that can turn it around pretty quickly and weld them together so there are no structural issues. I'm thinking an 02/07 MFg would be the way to go even though they are technically not making the gun. I'm posting this in several forums in hopes of increasing my chances of finding someone to do this work.

Thanks in advance for your help.
Kevin
