I am offering a semi auto 80% reweld service for the MG42. I can do 3 cut, 4 cut or any combination of receiver pieces as long as all the parts are there.

All welds will be done with TIG and ground finished.

The following parts will be fitted or modified:
1. Gripstick slot expanded for S/A Gripstick only.
2. Top Cover/ feed tray fitted.
3. Buffer Fitted and barrel bushing re-attached.
4. Cocking Handle fitted.
5. A Bolt block will be fitted, the end builder will only need to cut this piece to length for F/A bolt block.
6.Cam piece will be fitted and then Cam block fitted. The end builder will cut out the block for final assembly. This is done to keep with 80% status.
7. Rails removed from slag pieces if needed and holes filled.
8. Inspect, modify and install the recouperator. I will also install the front sight and assemble the rear sight if needed.

What I will need:
1. Complete receiver pieces: if matching 3 or 4 cut, that's great. If not, I require overlapping pieces to build from. BRP, Coldsteel...whatever.
2. All recouperator pieces and sight pieces.

I will charge a flat fee of $475 regardless of receiver pieces. For this, I will do all of the above as well as warranty the welds from cracking as long as you own the MG. The end builder will be able to complete the receiver with a Dremel, hand tools and time.

This is for an 80% SEMI AUTO reweld ONLY. NO FULL AUTO parts will fit. As delivered, no internal parts will fit without end user work.

Am I looking at these pictures wrong or are the welds not ground down?

Correct, those welds in the picture where taken "in the raw" from my own working gun.

Anyone can weld, grind, reweld, grind, reweld......end up destroying the receiver (but make it look good on camera), however it takes skillz to get it right the first time.

This looks real good,and at a price that is both reasonable and affordable.I wish you good luck with your venture,I think it is something that is needed here.As far as I know,Pete Stout is the only one doing this,there may be someone else.I think there is room here for more than one supplier,and your list of services looks good.There is no way someone could get a weld shop to do the welding and smoothing for this price,you have the economy of scale in your favor.I would suggest that you post some pics of 'in progress' and also the finished product as shipped,to give us a better idea of what to expect.A service like this will be a big aid to those of us with minimal or no welding skills,or those that prefer not to spend the money on the nessesary tools-welder,helmet,grinder,etc.Now if we could get someone to offer this for the 34.... ---bil

i will be getting a mg34 kit with reciever section can you do a reweld for me and for the same price?

if you get the jig of course but there must be someone wanting to sell there after finishing there gun

i have a new brp ratchet plate and those metal sqaures that hold the buffer in. to do a reweld and intsall those parts, is it the same price

Ratchet plate is no problem, I have a machine that can re-attach it like OEM. THe buffer squares are riveted in, so as long as you provide the rivets I don't see a problem.

The flat price still remains the same as long as I don't have to track down parts.

Let us know when you get an MG34 jig..... I have a receiver that I would LOVE to get welded......

Also, do you have plans to get your Class 2??? If so I'd be more interested in getting my MG34 IMA 3 cut rewelded 100%....

We could work something out with the mg34 jig that I have, and you could grab that bren kit too. I won't be back in CO until mid August though.

the only thing i think i dont have are the rivits. im gonna dig my stuff out. i got my original r71 comin in soon so i need something to put on my side car

Here is a picture of the repair bushing just welded.

Sooooo, you do the repair bushing along with the rest of the parts! It was not real clear to me, so do you also aline everything up from bushing back to the rear of the receiver, even a coldsteel??? If so I had better get in gear and order one!! THANKS! Rod (carlque)

Yes indeed! I will repair any form of receiver as long as all the pieces are there to work with.

Everything from the tip of the bushing to the rear end of the receiver is put back to usuable spec. I have "blocks" installed so that I may send it to your door as a "non gun". As soon as my 07 FFL is approved, I won't have to jump through these hoops.

From all the receivers I have seen, the buffer plates are spot welded on all 4 corners in addition to the rivets.
