Several people have asked about the MG34 that I have. So I have decided to put it back out with a cheaper price and see what happens. Several have emailed but no one has bought it yet.
I have a TNW MG34 SA that I would like to sell. I have a FA in the works and I don't need the SA. It is in excellent shape, no rust, no bent pieces, 90% blueing. Great looking gun and runs great in 8mm. It has one stamped number on the barrel housing, not like those that have been stamped twice with different serial numbers. The numbers on the barrel housing and the receiver match. Sling is not included. I have had the trigger assembly reworked from TNW and it has alot softer trigger pull. $2600 plus shipping. This item requires me to ship to a FFL only. Sorry guys but that is the law.
I have attached a pic for you to see it.

Wow $2,600 for a SA mg34. I thought they would be more than that. Such a deal. Maybe i'm thinking of the SA mg42. Congrats to the buyer.

I was the first person to contact the seller with an acceptance of his sale offer. He emailed me confirmation that it was mine ("Ok It is yours."). We then spoke by phone and confirmed that and I made it clear that I would get payment to him right away in whatever form he wanted. However, because of threats and sour grapes from orione6a (something to the effect of: "If I don't get it, I'll make sure nobody gets it." and "I'll have the money to you tomorrow morning"), the seller is now undoing my purchase of this rifle. I do not think that is right. If, when you contact the seller, he informs you that someone else already accepted the sale offer and confirmed it without qualification, I do not think it is right for you to grind on the seller to undo the deal so that you can get it.
The seller sounds like a nice enough guy and he is apologetic, but that does not change the fact that this is being handled incorrectly.
p.s. I contacted the seller by email and phone--I did not post here because I do not generally want the entire world to know when I purchase a firearm. At the time I spoke with the seller, I was first to communicate acceptance of his terms and I have the email from him to back that up. There were no ifs, ands, or buts.

Hey Jackass (wondering)
Get your facts straight. You wouldnt have even known about this gun, unless you did what I did, which was DIG thru the old postings for this gun. I contacted the seller, though the list, and asked a few questions. In my second email, which was sent before the gun was even REPOSTED for sale here, i had already "commited to buy" We were already working out the details. As a favor to the board, I even posted LONG BEFORE you had a confirmation from the seller, that I would take it. No threats were made, nice for you to have this info though..........were you privy to my emails?............so sorry you were LATER than me! Grow up, grow a pair, and do some digging of your own! I think that your post says a lot, probably not in the way that you intended.

I can see the day coming-and real soon-that the F/S section goes away.In looking in the old posts,I just dont see the animosity that seems to have gotten worse lately. If we cant start showing a little more respect for each other an for our own reputations,I am afraid the mods will get sick of babysitting and clamp down on that section. ---bil

Maybe thats what its going to take. Honestly I can't understand why people cannot be civil about these things.
Wondering could have easily IM'd one of the Mod's OR tried to work it out with orione6a in IM. Orione6a could have been a bit more mature in his response to Wondrering.
It's not hard people, really.

M60, after the things the seller told me that orione6a was saying to him, it was clear that PMing him would have been futile. He said the pressure from orion to undo the sale to me was so bad that he wanted to just burn the rifle because it wasn't worth the hassle. Seeing orion's post here reinforces my belief that PMing him would have done no good. Not so civil.
Another observation: orion claims that he had already accepted the seller's offer before it was posted for sale here. The seller clearly posted that he had received email inquiries but that no one had yet bought it. Why would he have posted it for sale if orion had already bought it? I spoke to the seller in person and he said that I was the first to accept his terms. He told me after the fact that orion inquired about a trade, that he had not accepted before me. Looking through the scope at the target a few times is not the same thing as pulling the trigger.
I could not have done anything more. I emailed to ask if it was still available. The answer was yes. I emailed that I would take it (at the posted price, I might add, not a penny more or less) and asked that the seller send me a confirming email and asked to contact him so that I could make shipping and payment arrangements. The seller emailed "OK. It is yours. Give me a call...." I called and the seller returned my call--I confirmed my willingness and ability to make payment in whatever form he wanted. He mentioned that someone else had contacted him after I accepted. Because I was out to lunch, we agreed to talk after lunch to make the arrangements for shipping to my FFL, etc. In the meantime I called my FFL so that I could get a copy of his license sent to the seller. I called the seller again and emailed but did not get a response yesterday. I now know that's because of this brouhaha with orion. So what in the world did I do wrong? I could not have been any more straightforward or civil. I told the seller that I wasn't going to threaten him or fly out to sue him, but let him know that I thought it wasn't right. He agreed but said that he was sorry, it wasn't worth the hassle. If I didn't feel like I got the long end of the shaft, I would feel sorry for the seller. He sounds like a nice enough guy. I am sure that he appreciates how disappointed I am.

As usual, Bil, you've nailed it. And this F/S board is where all the good deals show up. If this F/S section goes away we'll all be paying the scalpers on the auction sites premium prices for our parts.
A suggestion to the newcomers: If you get bumped out of a good deal just suck it up and sit tight. Good deals come along quite frequently here. If you miss one, you'll get the next one.

It really is a shame that things can degrade to this extent. It shows a bad side of us all to anyone looking or thinking of joining.I would hate to think what any new guys are thinking. The truth is,this is probobaly the best site on the web for the mg34/42s,and the other 'orphan'guns here.there are very few here that I wouldnt trust with any kind of deal.Their word is gold, and they wouldnt think of changing a deal in midstream. However, you learn a lot by how a deal goes down.It is clear to me that there are some that I would never buy or sell from,no matter how good the deal. The word is principles.Have some and use them.We shouldnt have to be writing letters like this.It distracts from all of our time and diverts energy from the real purpose. ---bil

Over on "JOUSTER" the For Sale section lets you post items, however there is no way for anyone to post responses. They do have a "link" in the posted advert to contact the seller if you have any questions.
That method puts a stop to all "public displays".....

I REALLY like our current system and feel these past two incidents are the exception, not the norm. I can only hope we don't go to a system like that. (Not that it's bad to start with, just that it would be bad to have to switch to that.)

this is how we do things and I don't see it changing. at least not to a different system , don't be shocked to not see the F/S section one day . Salt NEVER wanted one to start with , he gave in to the members requests for one. as a result this is the one section we heavily over-moderate to keep the BS down.
over on jouster you wouldn't know anything about the personalities , if nothing else here you get a glimpse of who your dealing with the good , the bad , & the UGLY .
