Re: MG08/15
The thread has gone quiet and some pictures have disappeared. However if you send a list of items still needed that will help. Also look at the photo thread as period images provide great detail on genuine items. WWI ammo cans are not difficult to get hold of.
Seeking all items, large or small, to the Imperial MG08, MG08/15 & T Gewehr.

Re: MG08/15
I know most MG42 users secretly adore WWI MGs so to re-energise this MG08/15 thread here are some images of 08/15 in the collection. There will be 08/15 accessories reflected too and also spares/trades available.
Not sure too much about what the US did at the end of WWI in marking captured booty but the Allies extensively painted details. Registers were kept and I understand the Canadian And Australian 'registers' remain pretty much intact. So there are many examples of Regimental history museums displaying captured pieces but sadly not much left on other British items. Records were destroyed in WWII and indeed many WWI captured pieces had to be melted down for their metal content/need.
As for this one, this came from Scotland, as a brought back by a long standing Scot family serving in the Great War and was (sadly) sold off in an estate closure auction. No details are known, as per the barrel jacket. Mark
