Well i got my M53 last week wensday and i got some pics from my second outing with it. After a few hiccups the first time it rain near flawlessly this last time. I figured since H_Waffenfabrik got some pics of his fresh out of the box i would post some out shooting.
I thought i would see how far out this belt would stretch.
There is a couple with the drum on it.
Me putting a few rounds down range.
My brother having a blast, running through all my ammo.
Me again but i thought i would try walking the rounds in while hip shooting

Where is the assistant gunner to feed the belt!? You don't want any stoppages if the Russians attack! ---bil

Fun gun to shoot isn’t it? Hard not to smile when you shoot one.
Nice pics BTW. Wait till you put your M53 on the MG3 tripod. It’s super platform for this gun and I highly recommend it. Heavy as all heck, but a great accessory for someone who likes to shoot. Only the Germans could engineer a master piece tripod like that. What a bargain at around $400…imagine what it’d cost to make one now.
These semi MG42’s and derivatives like the M53 and such, whether they be kit built by the skilled members here or the manufactured ones like the BRP or WLA versions I believe will be good investments in the future.
I'm betting a lot of us wished we'd have bought more kits and M53's instead of stocks lately

Looks like another happy customer.
"Der Alder" you are so right, of course the nice thing about regret is that it proves our memories still work

Well i was thinking of originally building one from a parts kit, im glad i didnt i would have been lost, now that i have one to shoot and have fun with though, i think i am going to try building one especially with the knowledge of having one right here to look at and go from if i did get stuck. Thanks for the compliments guys.

Well you guys played a better game, but im actually more concerned with Rodgers getting hurt then with the lose, i knew it was comming this year, but was hoping it would at least wait to happen until we had a winning record or something.

I know what ya mean about injuries.. We've had plenty in the past two seasons... I was just messing with ya a little bit..
Very nice. You're going to love shooting it off that tripod.. You should be able to get it going pretty fast on there.. Here's a vid of mine on the tripod:

Indeed i did love shooting it off the tripod. And as for the rate of fire you can do it very fast, i cant believe how easy it is to bump fire, i wasnt even trying to and it still did. Of course i probably could have avoided it if i would have completely pulled the firing mechanism all the way back, i guess i probably left a little to little pressure on it. A blast though that is for sure.
And instead of sucking all the bandwidth down here are some direct links.

And instead of shooting my friend is to busy sneaking a peak at the camera, he needs to take pointer from my brother who at least looks like is looking forward.

That gun is FRIGGIN AWESOME! Congrats! One tip... don't let the belt drag on the ground or you will drag dirt and sand into your gun (that's BAD). Have an assistant hold the belt (make it shorter first) or lay it in an ammo box and let it spill out of that. Great job on the MG-53! Have LOTS OF FUN with that!

Well i decided to put my new MG3 parts on and check it out and see what it looked like, just got a few pics. One has a pic of the 120rd green box and one of the 50rd HK drum that i have seen a few recent posts asking questions regarding them so everyone can see they fit on a semi auto M53.

I noticed in your pic that your M53 has the front AA site mount. You lucked out there

Yeah i didnt think it cam with that and like i mentioned in another post mine seems to have alot of the "bpr" markings all over so it looks like they used a more MG42 parts kit then a Yugo M53 one. I was curious about this to. With that mount if i bought the front AA sight how does that work. Do you simply set it in there when you decide to use it and pull it out or is it actually stay attached. I know the rear is a piece that stays attached on the rear sight base. But the front i am unsure of.

Yeah you can easily pull the sight back off. IO sells a nice repo front sight. On the rear there is an arm assembly you can add, providing you have the holes in your rear sight base. Angola sells the rear sight and still has them last I knew.
