That isn't someones build unless it's a post sample. Notice the full auto bolt?

I wonder why they didn't remove the Grip Stick or Charging Handle...

Otherwise nicely done. Some verbal audio would have been a plus..
Regards,
Heli

BTW If you are going to shorten Helix60 It's Heli NOT Helix.

I think this is DARIVS ARCHITECTVS. You will find it on his web site.

Yes,this is our own DA! If you look in the background in several shots, you can see some medeival armour, he builds it himself-very nice! Also see the care he takes ,carefully placing the oily parts directly on the living room rug! Great film,DA! :D ---bil

You know, it is this video that made me all hot for an Mg42 when I was like 15 years old. took me 3 years before I got one though. Thanks for the influence DA!

Demon,is yours FA or SA? I didn't get into these until I was 50! You have a big head start.Although I have always been a fan of these guns, and my WWII German library is extensive, until last summer I didn't realize you could even own one.I was looking up some other reasearch on these guns, and stumbled across this site.At the same time I ran into an ad in SGN for a dummy gun from Allegheny. At the same time I got some un-expected money from my ex.That was all it took, and now I am hooked. It is good to see so many young guys into these historic guns. Most of the young guys I know like the new stuff, and couldn't work on one.My son has my AR15,and wants one of these, but won't help.My son-in-law really likes these, and helps when he can.Guess who will get one first.I was surprised when we had the thread where we post our pictures on how so many guys were under 30.It is good to know there is a younger generation interested in them.Enough blather. ---bil

Hey I live in NY, which prohibits even Class III dudes from owning FA's (I think.....). I have like $4,000 (well, new MP44 makes it $6,000) in guns, which my brother (who is 11 months younger than me at 18 ) and I have collected in the past 4 years since we started collecting guns. All that my bro and I do is save up our money, then if we see something great, then we pick it up! We usually get 1 gun a year, but this year we got about 5. Uhh, two of which my parents don't know about ( :D ). With 11 weapons in our locker downstairs, they have lost count. I have put almost $800 into my '42 so far. I have to wait for my dad to "lathe out" a barrel bearing, then I can weld it up at a friends shop. It will have to be semi of course. What I do is I just work my minimum wage job, then blow my entire bank account on some exotic weapon ha ha.... I still have enough to hang out with friends, or buy booze or whatever (I'm in college....).

Now I have to do this MP44....... I am eyeing some of these $5,000 kits, so I have to start working my usual 60 hour weeks, but its worth it always!

And I stumbled across this site researching builds on Mg42's, cause I knew that semi's are legal to own, and I was wondering if anyone ever rebuilds demilled guns, and of course now I know! I have to finish this Mg42, then the MP44, then a Suomi kit, and an ERMA MP30. I am busy (and content!).

My bro also got his friend into this stuff enough so that he bought an K98 at the last gunshow.

Thanks again Kurt for making me waste all my money

Whups, I was mistaking the ejector for a full length firing pin. :pound:

Sorry!
