Here's a good learning experience. This bolt head snapped not because of any fault of it's own, but rather, because the BBL extension experienced a cracked locking shoulder which went unnoticed, which then concentrated all forces onto the other side of the extension and into the bolt head at the one roller.

ALWAYS check your BBLs for wear and damages!!! The shooter was lucky with this one.....he escaped serious injury but that may not always be the case.

it looks like a hefty piece until you seee how little material hold it all together.

huh? thats weird , I'd expect it to shear off the front face of the bolt not the rear. I mean under firing pressure the portion in front of the rollers would be experiencing the stress of keeping the bolt forward not the back half.

shame to see a valuable WW2 piece destroyed .

I'd bet those Germans designed the bolt to be at least twice as strong as needed to survive this kinda thing.
