What does the round can hold?

Gas mask canister

Gas was heavily used in WWI and Hitler almost lost his eyesight in a gas attack.

The use of poision gas was discontinued by all sides in WWII but every soldier had to carry one just in case.

Doesn't he look a bit like Will Ferrel in this picture?

The uniform and gear look great! Where did you get the various items. I'd really like to get a setup like that. It would look great next to my german weapons display.

BTW, If anyone is interested, I have a friend here who is restoring an original FW-190 to flying condition and he has the most amazing collection is original flight gear and ground equipment. I'll have to get some photos for you to see.

Not to hijack this thread too far off topic, but did you hear about the company a couple of years back that was making a limited run of new production FW-190s? Or is your friend's aircraft one of those, by chance?

I heard a rumor about FW-190's being remade in Germany. Not to put this thread back ON topic, but the Y-straps are from Lander Outfitters, the Luger is a reblued shooter S/42 1940, and the repro Luger holster and MG gunner's pouch were bought at some other suppliers. The uniform is from Lost Battalions. the canteen is original. The breadbag was bought from Traders of the Lost Surplus (good stuff, but unreliable merchant).

And Will Ferrel ain't got nuttin' on me! :nana:

To the front......

Do you belong to a unit ?...If so which one. :)..We do 10th Kp, of GD when we do Army, and 10th Kp of 2nd SS when we do SS. This was a result of two units joining together for better numbers at events......Nice gun you have.. :D

I'm attached to 1Kp Grossdeutschland based out of Wisconsin. Our small unit tends to work tacticals in a very coordinated fashion, not like a bunch of independent "deer hunters" like other groups. It's great to be in a cohesive unit. I sometimes get together with the 2nd Waffen SS in Minnesota, but they don't seem to really get as enthused and put as much effort at tacticals, but the guys are cool.

Dagobert- the company you are thinking of is Flugwerks. There copies are ok but they claim that they are exact copies or something. They are in fact far from exact copies. No, my friends 190 is a real one. Real BMW engine too.

Darius- do you have web addresses for the clothing sellers? What about the boots? BTW, Will Ferrel is probably not as talented as you.

Yeah, just not against enemy soldiers in combat during WWII.
