M1 Tanker,
What is the manufacturer of your MG42 receiver so we can try to help you with a photo?
From looking at about 20 WWII German MG42 Top-Covers.....the markings were never standard between the manufacturers nor by dates of manufacture (IE: Early vs. late-war MG42 markings)........and then the 2 or 3 letter manufacturer codes were not put on all WWII German Top-Covers....nor were they all "waffenampt-ed"......and being "hand-stamped, never in the same location.
Some WWII German top-cover were never maked on the top-surface.
Just what exactly are you looking for in a photo of a WWII German Top-Cover marking?
Regards, RichardS.

I'll narrow it down some. I want the markings on a MG42 top cover. 1943 DFB is what i have, but would take anything dfb or 1943. I was hoping for a waffenamted top cover so I can stamp mine. Its a post war cover with all the german stock numbers inside, so Im not trying to sell it as a fake
Its just for me, for looks.
