I walked away from my job about a month ago. Now I get to split my time between being a stay at home dad and an amature armourer. My wife jokes that I'm developing a problem. I don't see any problems here! I can't remeber being happier in my entire life!
On a side note, I've been getting into WWII reenacting lately and I hope whatever unit I join needs some machine gunners
That looks so sweet. I do believe that some unit is going to be real happy if you join them. I'm sure that one or more posts will be showing up to welcome you to their unit.
Bravo to you and your wife, that is a nice collection you have going, keep building some day you may be able to finance your kid's college with selling some of them.
“… corporations have been enthroned, and an era of corruption in high places will follow, … until all wealth is aggregated in a few hands and the Republic is destroyed.”
Way to go Fritsch, That is some arsenal in the works. Mine is so close and somehow I got sidetracked into some uzi builds. Much simpler I must say. Done minus bolts. Still thinking of a quad mount? RR
Yup. I was going to put together a couple twin mounts like Red Jacket did. Since I don't have a job now, and I couldn't find any twin mounts anyway, I'm going in a different direction. My brother's into robotics, so we're going to make something oriented similar to a .50cal quad with two guns on either side of the gunner. The movement will be controled through robotics and the guns will be fired using a crank system powered by your feet (kind of like pedaling a bike). Anyone know if right side feeding topcovers and feedtrays exist, btw?
The question "why?" comes up now an again, which is kind of perplexing. We live in america and for the time being, we can. A better question is, "Why not?"
My wife loves it, btw. I could waste my time playing video games or making my cars look nice, but instead, I mad scientist it up, and our daughter will hopefuly have a nice college fund as a result in a couple decades.
Fantastic idea. You might be overlooking the exercise benefits also. All that pedaling and shoveling mass quantitys of brass. "Why not?" I agree. Thats how really cool things come to be. Good luck to you and yours. RR
I've almost done that several times. Left the barrel out while getting ready for a photo shoot. Happy to say that every time I've remembered at some time and grabbed a barrel to stuff in.
Again Nice Family pic.
*Blush* You caught me. At the time this picture was taken, I only had one barrel. I just keep swiching it from gun to gun to build and test them. I just got two more .308 barrels though, so that should help.
