I'll call them again tomorrow since they are already closed. A friend recommended a second shop so I'll try them as well. Do we really want 100 of these? I was thinking more like 25. I don't want to pay for a bunch and never be able to get rid of them...

MGAPA,

You are right and don't need to get stuck with extra posters. Once you find a size to print and a price, do similar to Weaponeer and see how many folks want one (or more) and then use this number to make up the order. If folks want one, they must be on the list. Personally, I would not mind pre-paying so you won't have to bear the brunt of the upfront cost!

If we end up with extra, I don't mind taking several of them (5-10?). I'm pretty sure I can give them out to friends as great gifts or heck, I'll sell them on ebay.

Gentlemen,

One of the shops is getting a quote ready for me and will call me back. Hopefully today.

The other place said for a 16" x 20" $25 per scan (and she said it will probably be 3 or 4 for a 3x4' original) and about $180 for a 100 count run of them. Add it all up and divide by 100 gives us $2.80 per poster!!! Shipping couldn't be more than $6 or $7 bucks so I think that is pretty reasonable. I'll wait and see what the other shop has to say, but I think this sounds like a deal....or was it steal.... :D

Well you had to deal out some hard cash to get the poster and make it available to us, I think you should make a couple of bucks per poster for your time. I think that would be fair.

Alright here are the final totals.
1st we have Copy Right & Banner zone. for 100 posters 16"x20" it will be approximately $2.80 per poster + $2.25 shipping tube + actual shipping cost (assuming average of $6) = approx. total $10.05

Color Scan. for 100 posters 16"x20" it will be $5.25 per poster + $2.25 shipping tube + actual shipping cost (assuming average of $6) = approx. total $13.50

NOW, all this is ASSUMING Cruiser will lend me the precious WWII print. I know most everyone here is what I would consider a stand up guy, but that is a piece of history he has to trust me with.

Someone mentioned my bucks at stake...I would prefer to have one made before I commit to 100 so I know it won't be a POS and everybody get pissed at me. Then there is the method of payment. I would prefer money orders so Paypal and Egay don't get any of our hard earned gun money.

Lastly, if you really want to enclose a couple extra dollars for my time and effort, please go ahead and do so. However, I'll tell you up front, I am going to take whatever you donate to me and cut the owners of the site a check for one massive donation from all of us. We all profit from this site, so maybe it's time to give a little back.
It's all up to you Cruiser....Email me if you want my address.

Just kick the price up to about $16 or $17. Worth every penny.

Heck - for what we get, $20 would be a fair price, especially for the time and effort that's gone into getting this done.

Put me down for two at $20, just let me know where to send a couple of Jacksons..

Just to help on the shipping price.
If you send it USPS priority, the shipping tubes are free.
I wouldn't think the priority shipping would be over $ 5.50. The tube will weigh more than the poster!

If you send it USPS media rate which covers books, magazine or printed material, this is the cheapest rate the PO has! I don't think you get a Priority shipping tube with this though.

The best place to get a shipping tube would be to try and find a envelope mfg'r or at worst go to a large office supply or packaging and shipping supplier and try to buy a 100 lot of tubes rather than buy them individually priced.

I went to my local chain office supply place and had them order me in a huge box of padded shipping envelopes 100 or 200 count? for about 2/3 the price of their individual 3 packs.

I'll go ahead and try to check a couple of websites right now.
