I would like a copy, let me know when they are available or if you need some money ahead of time to get the shipping tubes for the posters or to pay ahead for the printing. This won't be cheap for you to do so I will pay for mine ahead of time.

Yea, I agree with "acmech" I certainly don't mind in providing upfront money for the project. Stuff like this cost more that most folks know.

I had a couple of 5-6 color L1A1 wall charts that I was going to have reproduced.
I made some B&W copies at Kinko's, but they could not do color pics for me.
They were not even as large as the MG42 chart. I think they were around 28" tall x 36" wide?

I called all around Kansas City and finally took them to a color imaging business. They do large color prints, copies, blueprints, etc.
I cost me around $ 80.00 for a digital scan of the 2 charts and they put them on a disk for me. The price for a color printout was going to be around $ 25.00 per chart based on 50 charts or something like that. If I WANTED a qty 1000 or so it would be cheaper.

As I was selling the original charts for someone else who had no interest in reproducing them, I sold them on ePay shortly after my digital scans. Tapco bought them and reproduced them for much cheaper shortly after. Sold them cheaper than I could even have them made!

Anyway, I figure the only way to reproduce the chart,s ( as a business venture anyway) is to take them to a printer who will actually make up print plates and have them run off in color. This would probably only be viable if you were making 10,000 of them.
Maybe the cost would be $ 3.00 each??

I tried some small town print shops and they couldn't do it?

I would like a 42 poster as well. Just letting you know what we are up against. Hope I'm wrong.

Cruiser how big is the original? My aunt worked in a copy/reproduction business for years. Let me know the dimensions and I will see if she has any ideas.

MGAPA,

"Cruiser133" psted the size a few threads ago, here is the quote.........."Thanks for the heads up, I will still try Kinkos this weekend and if need be, will shop around the printing places this week....it is 4ft wide and 3ft long"

I hope you can get some good information from your aunt that the poster can be reproduced at a reasonable cost.

I must have been reading faster than I comprehend what it is I'm reading....sorry. I'll call her today and find out what she knows.

MGAPA,

Don't worry about that, I do the same thing and give answers to a question that was not even asked, LOL! I read faster than I should sometime and don't take time to comprehend what I read when I am busy.

Gentlemen, spoke to my aunt and she gave me the number of the owner of a place called Copy*Right & Banner Zone in Altoona, PA. They told me 4ft x 3ft in color is $4.50 per square foot. Now 12 sq ft times $4.50 is $54. That seems awfully expensive for a poster to me. Any chance you guys want it shrunken down a bit? I would be happy to do the leg work on it for anyone that wants them.
Oh, well, I can't read German anyway! :?

4' x 3' is nice, but a little smaller is certainly fine IMO.
You might see what they offer in a std size poster and the Sq footage of it.
A qty run may help as well to get the cost down? 100 posters? Any venture capitalist out there than can finance this?

I would prefer standard poster size anyway. That way, I can get one of those plastic "frames" for it.

Please excuse my ignorance, but just so we are all on the same page, what is "standard poster size"?
