Have you just travelled back in time 60 odd years to pick that up new! Looks really nice.
The only thing that helps me maintain my slender grip on reality is the friendship I share with my collection of singing potatoes.
Re: My MG42
it doesnt have the original bolt or barrel. but the cams match and appear unmessed with. I know that the feed tray is either a field update or later, as it is later than the date of the gun manufacture. The only question I had was the finish on the gun- original? anyone have any thoughts? there is absolutely no wear anywhere on this gun.

Re: My MG42
Gun looks refinished to me..........too "uniform" of a finish.
Post some clear photos of the cam-area (w/markings)....to top-rear of the receiver.......and of the left-rear markings on the receiver.
What is the stamped marking on the top of the receiver near (or just in front of) the cam-piece (?).
Regards, RichardS in MI.

Re: My MG42
Whether it was refinished or not is no big deal... but unfired by its current owner ? Where's the fun in that ?!
