Looks like the flare pistol adapted to launch grenades that was used in WW2.

otherwise known as the Kampfpistole Z. It was identical to the older flare pistols except that the barrel was rifled, rather than smooth. It was used to fire various ordnance as grenades and smoke grenades. I believe they even had anti tank ammo..

Kampfpistole Z................

Does anyone have one of these, or seen one in person? That's new to me, as I've never heard of a hand held
pistol type grenade launcher.

This is a Leuchtpistole 42...covered in cosmo...bought it from IMA. It is supposed to be devoid of finish, they were made from Zinc.
