THis is the Spanish national guns factory. They devoloped the G 3, (cetme B) with the help of some german engineers after the 2WW. Then they sold (cheap) the disign to HK who finished it and sold it as G 3 with great profit.
They didnt know how to make bussines

Maybe they were just happy that the Germans didn't turn around and use their newly-licensed weapons to invade them with, again? After all, that wasn't too long after WWII.omegant wrote:yep CENTRO DE ESTUDIOS TECNICOS DE MATERIALES ESPECIALES, ( especial material tecnical studies center) EMTSC in english.

Hhehehe, It was not worth to invade spain at that time, I have read the army only had ammo for 2,3 weeks of combat, no suplies for the factories, no navy, no air force (all old crap). Furthermore If they have invaded they would had to recontruct all the infraestructures. So it was not a good business!!! .
Any way the cetme B was a spanish devolpment with german engineers. When it was almost complete HK became interested, so the last stages of the work where together. Finally Cetme sold the right to sell the g3 for a few bucks the unit to HK. You know spanish empires dont last so long
too much party is not good for the business!

I m not quite sure, some people who used them told me that they are not so well constructed and have some reliability problems with heavy use (as cocking handle breakeage, extraction problems and that). Maybe is due to the new contract for replacing the centme L and LC for the G36.
Furthermore it seems it didn´t have any comercial success. If i get the real reason I´ll post it.
Maybe next week Ill post the pics of the amely with my new mg53. with some parts disassembled and compared.

There are several, a handful, here in the USA. All were brought in as Pre-86 Dealer Sample guns though, through ARMEX.
They move quietly when sold, you'll never see one marketed openly. If any of you are truly serious, I know where two are right now, both unfired in the original suitcase they came in. NOT CHEAP. Only available to FFL w/SOT, of course.
