hey Dennis, I am using the ar15 fcg in one of my machined aluminum housings, sets the fcg lower than original housing will allow so you dont have to modify the hammer in anyway, straight drop in, works great with all the ammo I have tried, both 8mm and .308. Here is a link to one of my 42sa running with 8mm miulitary ammo and the ar15 fcg http://www.thompsonmachine.net/img/42semi/42 semi5.mpg

The carbine in the picture is in fact one of the m53 yugo sets that century imported with the bbl bearing torched, I just machined a new bearing , sqaured up the front of the shroud and welded the new bearing in place. I got a qoute last year on getting a bunch of front repair pieces machined with blind slots EDM in place and posted it here somewhere but didnt get any response, couldnt fund the needed 100qty order myself so I just machined a few for my sets and broached the slots with a shaper (slooooow). Been lots of fun so far

I have never had the gonads to reach past the ejection port, even with the off hip shooting I wear welding leathers and hang the front of the gun off a wide m60 sling. The only time I have evr put my left hand forward of the grip I cupped the front of the triger gaurd with my left hand like you would a pistol    everybody thats shot a 42 knows what happened next, finger nail eventualy grew back

panaceabeachbum,
Technical question for you sir.....about your SA42-Carbine:

With the gun fully assembled.......standing on-end with the muzzle facing upward......please remove the Flash-Hider and Booster-Cup/"Nozzle"...and tell us the measurement from the forward end of your receiver to the tip of the barrel-bearing as it protrudes out of the receiver.
__________"
Also, what was the end result in size (IE: The best size Booster-Cup/"Nozzle" Center-Hole you ended up using?)
__________

Thank you for the help, RichardS.

just my point , droling idiot had asked me about puttin a forward grip on his a while back and i said no way I would put my hand there and have my hand and wrist exposed to a possible ammo failure, shrapnel is bad though like you said fingers grow back lol

from the front face of the receiver to the end of the bbl bearing is .503", I have found the 13.5mm booster to be working just fine as the gun wears in, fired a little over 500rds of 8mm so far.
