Another reason Churchill was an A-Hole

Post by www.Prussia.us »

As a voracious and objective reader of history, it is safe to say that one could easily posit that Winston Churchill was a dirty bag of fecal matter, when I saw this posted on another forum, and read the story, it only validates the thought that Churchill was such an a-hole, for so many reasons.

Churchill was intrigued with UFO’s and believed in their existence but hid it from the public because he was afraid they would come unhinged and it would decimate the security the Church gives people:

Plus he was anti-German, total a-hole material.

wow...don't hold back Prussia!!

:))

I saw a show last night about the UFO thing and his fear about making people lose faith in religion and weakening the resistance.

Not to deflect...but I remember seeing a program on 'leaders'...and most of the time, a leader is a leader at a certain point in time and not a leader all the time.

While Churchill helped the British people during WWII...after the war, he did abysmally I think got yanked out of office.

Well, my two cents in the conversation... :)

if you really want to find some stuff to hate him for have a look at WWI and his collusion with the evil secretary of the US Navy on the Lusitania disaster. He was the minister of the navy at the time I believe. "Lets kill a few thousand innocents by loading war material on a passenger ship....that will get the US into the fracas on our side" says winnie. It seems to have worked as history shows though even that took some time to push the americans over the edge and into the war. The idiot on the US side wasn't much help (to us) as he wholeheartedly dove in to help the little plot. He later went on to help push the US further into the socialism that wilson championed. The press gives him laurels but they both deserve something more appropriate for crimes against humanity.

Just my 2 cents from researching history.

+1 to franks post! You beat me to it.For his ideas on the Empire, read 'The Malakand Field Force',written when he was a young lieutenant, the campaign in the Swat valley. It is worth reading anyway,as the parellels to events today are remarkable.
However, for a person convinced in the right of the british Empire to survive at all costs,he did what had to be done.It certainly did not work out for those opposed, and for those that paid the price. ---bil

churchill may have been an ass hole, but he did more in his life than most people can possibly dream of. i think that should say something. you might not agree with him but he got things done.

The point isn't that he succeeded, it is he did to succeed. He was willing to sacrifice everyone but himself.

Sacrifices in war must be made, but being reckless, careless, and indifferent to the sacrifices of the lesser ranks doesn't look good in the history books, regardless of the results it produced at that moment. His record prior to WWII of pointlessly sacrificing others and making poor choices was abysmal. WWII offered him a chance to overcome his prior follies, and he apparently was what was needed at the time, but his lack of brilliance as a military leader hadn't changed from his early days.

So what if he was an A$$. I assume everyone is one until they prove to me otherwise....besides, I think it's easier to be one than not one. That's why I'm usually one.

The problem is that as mentioned above, and detailed in countless scholarly works, and especially in “The Illusion of Victory” by Thomas Fleming, is that I get tired of the Germans always being demonized when the Empires of England, France, and the Netherlands (just in the 20th century alone) killed millions more than the Third Reich. Crimes perpetrated against innocent denizens of Africa, Asia, and Oceania, all to exploit their natural resources and expand European territorial hegemony. The ugly face of John Bull wearing the Union Jack as the butcher’s apron is personified by Churchill and his upper 2% titled-English ilk. That is why he sucks monkey balls and should never be given any lofty place in the pantheon of truly great leaders.

It's been a long time since I read about it, but didn't Churchill in WWI give orders that told the Lusitania to sail right into an an area where he knew German U-boats would sink it? If it is also true that they unlawfully shipped arms on a ship loaded with passengers and then used it as "bait"...all those men women and babies, then Churchill was nothing but a war criminal. Had the war gone the other way and these truths came out perhaps he would not have met defeat in an election, but at the end of a rope.

There would have been a lot of that going on in either war if the other side had won-there was enough blame to go around. However, the winner takes all,and writes the history books. As Prussia posted, the British Empire was no bunch of angels, look at how they treated the Boers. And if you look carefully, almost every mess the US is involved in has its roots in Britians mucking things up. No offence to our british members here,of course! We are quite capable of causing trouble on our own,we just usually kept it in our back yard! Bananas, anyone? ---bil

Geez.. I rather liked Winston Churchill based on what I've heard. He was NOT easy to work with, but he did help the Allies win WWII.

Ya ever notice that if you give a new baby a cigar, they look a lot like Churchill?? Be carefull,a lot of mothers get mad if you tell them that!

Churchills like was very interesting,he had a lot of adventures,he was a shameless self-promoter, and went up and down on the popularity list many times.(there was an urge to compare to a porn star there, but I resisted) He messed up a lot of stuff, covered up many mistakes, and lied way too much.On the plus side,he was maybe the only one that knew what the Bolsheviks and Stalin were like, from the beginning. He was the right man to be able to rally the English people when the war was almost lost. And if you take away his cigar,he looks like a lot of new babies! Next lets do Woodrow Wilson! ---bil

AMEN!

Woodrow Wilson has to be one of the biggest, if not the absolute biggest, failures as a US president in modern times. He drug the US into a major war we had little or no business in, and that the US got little or nothing from the settlement of. If he had possessed half the brainpower or common sense of Thomas Jefferson or Geo. Washington, we would have sat the whole thing out and emerged the strongest economy in the world at the end of it, just by virtue of having been smart enough to stay out of it! :puk:

I'm glad we have all these cool war souvenirs over here, but they do remind me of the stupid decisions that got us into the mess in the first place! :(

But then I go shoot them, and it's all better! :D

Yep, read up on General Smedley Butler,he was Commandant of the Marines, had worked his way it in the banana wars, had been approached by a bunch of big businessmen and politicians about a job they had for him. They wanted to take over the US,and put him in as a dictator, under their control,of course. He blew the whistle, but after some hearings, they decided that although he was telling the truth, after all,the bisinessmen and politicians were important people,so lets forget the whole thing.Read his short book 'War is a Racket' that he wrote when he finally realised that he had been leading young men to kill natives in central America for the profit of United Fruit. Another good one is 'Bananas' by Peter Chapman, describing in detail what went on.Interesting folks appear, including the Dulles brothers, and how this policy shaped American policy in that area to this day. ---bil

Remember, read up on the stuff they don't teach in school or college. You will get the education they don't want you to have. You will find that all the big shots are tied into all the real crappy stuff that goes on.

Wasn't Woodrow Wilson on the $100,000 bill?

It was a federal bank currency, but I think his face was on it.

If you wait just a few more years, the $100,000 bill will be worth the same as the $1 bill is presently, and the picture on the $100,000 bill will be OBAMA.

Welcome to the WIEMAR REPUBLIC, Gentlemen!

This will occur if the government tries to monetize the nation's debt away by printing more money. Anyone want to buy a loaf of bread for $1 Million Reichmarks? How about a mere $1,000,000?
