Re: Military veterans
I sorta am. I was a Naval Reserve Lt. working as a US Merchant Marine delivering ammo on ship during Desert Storm. I was 2nd Assistant Engineeirng Officer. Merchant Marines are civilians, but during wartime we go unarmed into harms way to delievr the goods.

A proud veteran of the United States Army, Nov. '72 to Nov. '75; MOS: 91F20
Funny how you never forget all that nonsense. I suppose it's because you had to write it sooooooooo many times over and again while in service. Not to mention that my army days were the most rewarding of my life.
Go Army.

My job, 91F20, was as a Neuropsychiatric Specialist. I manned the psych and drug wards. I was also schooled as a regular medic, and as a social worker. That's why I say that my time in the service was some of the best time in my life. Every day was a blast. I don't remember ever waking up and dreading going to work.

Now I understand why Garry doesn't get confused by DA's posts-it is all of his training!

DA
I haven't been too active with the gun stuff lately, no time or money! I have never even hooked up with Bil. He knows my family up in VT, and we were supposed to talk over old times. Between work being insanely busy (I guess that is a good thing these days), the Army Reserve, elderly parents, and a dog with congestive heart failure, my off time is limited.
A while ago, I discovered the CT AWB would prevent me from owning an original configuration MG42 semi, so I lost my enthusiasm for completing my kit. I guess with Obama/Biden pulling ahead in the home stretch here, I will never get the chance to complete the MG42, even if I move out of this rotten state!
Sorry for hijacking the thread.
