To A Great Man "BOB HOPE" Christmas Show
Just got this link from email friends. Think of all of the men and women that the Great Bob Hope reached every year. I have to wonder how many of you folks or your dad's or mom's were in the audience of one of his USO tours. Anyone???
Listening of how he made a special unplanned stop to visit a group of Marines that the following day would be storming a beach head. If I heard right 60% or 9,000 did not see the following Christmas. He and many others GAVE to help out and help some to reach home for a day. With Christmas coming up take a look at a short video about Bob Hope....

To A Great Man "BOB HOPE" Christmas Show
Re: To A Great Man "BOB HOPE" Christmas Show
Bob-Hope was one great man.
I spent three tours in "sunny" SE-Asia but never got a chance to see one of his shows as I was out in the field.
If I remember correctly, after he started his USO Shows during WWII, he never spent a Christmas at home until he retired from show-business.....spending every Christmas with our "Service-Members" overseas.
I believe that "Congress" also gave him recognition for his service to our Nation/"Service-Members".

Tim, can you repost that link? When I went to it youtube reported "a malformed video". The show in question may be the one held at Pavuvu before the Marines invaded Peleliu "The Unecessary Island.

Dan
You were right on the island, Pelilu. There is a post on utube following in which someone states his father was one of the Marines that made it home.
God Bless them all.

My father made 3 landings in the Pacific. He never forgot the day he saw Bob Hope before his first.
Thanks for the memories.
