And someone thought this site was dead.

Churchill did help, just like the deal he made with Mussolini that if England fell then Mussolini would give him and his family safe passage and he was to in turn help Mussolini (History Channel).

BIL you are so right it is very important to read about the dirt in our past, too often the ignorant chalk it off as “American-hating rhetoric” but part of the problem with today is what Nietzsche called the eternal return of the same. War profiteers-international bankers and a pathetic press trick the masses, turn them into war hawks, a jingoist movement ensues, the doves are castigated as surrender monkeys, then 20-80 years later the truth comes out. Kind of like shooting at fish in the Gulf of Tonkin in 1964 and touching off a major police action. Life was good for those selling the overpriced goods to Uncle Sam.

Wilson the highest educated, the only Ph.D., as president, was bad but at least he sent Herbert Hoover over to engineer getting food to the Germans after the war since the Evil Empire-(Britain) kept up their blockade even after the armistice causing thousands of Germans to die. After the generation of Founders, I rather like Andrew Jackson he was a populist with balls. 8)

A little trivia-how many know about George HW Bushs' father was caught dealing with the Nazis during WWII? I don't remember much about it during the campaign. How about the Dulles brothers and their connections to United Fruit? Or where the money came from in the McCain family,Cindys father and his beer distributorship? The world is not a nice place, and should not be looked at too close by the faint of heart. ---bil

Noonxnoon, I think the deal is we all know about the Kennedys being f-ups, but they do not go around being f-ups while touting their superior "family values" like other powerful families. I liked your earlier Homer quote about Lincoln

BIL WTF? The History Channel said no to you but they re-newed "Ice Road Truckers" granted my friends that drive the big rigs enjoy that show, but how is it history? it really belongs on the Discovery Channel.

Anything worthwhile in the world has appeared on the Simpsons. All you need to know about how the world works is in there somewhere.Anyone that doesn't understand the Simpsons is not truly prepared for the real world. ---bil
