I have been following this story for a while -thanks for the pics! It really is sad the water got in,it was a neat idea at the time.It would have been nice to have opened it up and driven it away! For some strange reason this story reminds me of Ted Williams's head!? :? ---bil

Similar story, harder to believe -

Somewhere here on the web is a story about a German (?) tank that was driven into a pond during WW2 to keep the enemy from getting it. It was recently hauled out and it was found to have corroded VERY LITTLE. Not only did they clean it up (good pics of it on the site), but they got it RUNNING. There is footage of them driving it. Incredible. If I find the link I'll post it here.

Let's see, Bil --

--Germany made the Panther tank,
--The US made the Sherman tank,
--but, who made the Septic tank? My reference books don't show it.

You can dig up Mastodons in the Siberian tundra from 10,000 bc
that are in better shape than that car.

Try as you might to preserve the past.
The perishable few will endure in some ungodly fashion.
