The Bridge = Good Movie

Post by gtbehary »

I want to thank the person on the board that mentioned the movie "The Bridge" (Die Brucke). I found a copy online and watched it the other day. MG42's, mausers , subguns, MP44s and Panzerfaust..........along with some really funky looking Sheman tanks (must have been made of plywood). If you get a chance to see this movie , do it!

This outfit was at the Militaria show in Dulles: http://www.warshows.com/StoreFront.bok They had three TVs going with some pretty good movies. They brought along a lot of DVDs VHS tapes, books and t-shirts. What is good, is that they have foreign films and some of them are in English subtitles or have two DVDs one in native format/English subtitles and the other DVD with English voices dubbed over.

Check their site out! :peace:

Actually, I did a search and found the movie on TCM Movies Unlimited (I think that is the site). When I got the video, the DVD was labeled by the place that you mentioned.

Someone please correct me if I am mistaken but I believe that when I saw this movie many years ago......during one of the scenes.......the young Germans guarding that "home-town" Bridge were re-filling MG42 belts on a "US M3 Link-Loading-Machine" for the Browning .30 Cal. MG steel-links?

The panzerfaust blast in the face was really something too! I am glad the DVD version has both the subtitled and dubbed versions of the movie. I prefer sub-titles.
