Hi,
Not sure if this is where this should be but I just wanted to say if you have any interest in the FG42 rifle you might want to go to our website at: smgguns.com and look at our latest project. It is an American made, semi auto, second model FG42 that we are trying to bring to market in the near future - this year.
We are not affiliated with the other FG project that has been ongoing here in the states and will be selling complete rifles for less than half of the prices you are used to seeing in the past on similar rifles. Please take a look and tell me what you think!

Rick,
The site looks great.
First, I exalt your paragraph about buying American, plain and simple if Americans are not patriotic enough to support the tax base of America it will continue to degenerate into a polarized society like Mexico, a few haves and many, many, have-nots. Since both parties, and talk radio have sold their soul for 30 pieces of silver on this issue it must be a grassroots effort.
Second, you have some VERY cool stuff brewing, keep us up to speed.

Support the Tax Base? Does that mean pay taxes or buy American made goods. I agree its patriotic to buy American (even if its our Governments job to protect our goods against unfair foreign wages..etc.) goods but I think its also patriotic and very American NOT to pay taxes... even if pay mine
As far as the FG42 project... Well it will live or die on price. Times are not good and if the price is not right and maybe even if it is, it will be a hard sell. Hopefully things will pickup soon and the money will start moving. I also have to say for me personally, I just don't know how many more semis I will be buying at the high end of the price range. I am finding that I am enjoying FA so much more that even if I would really love to have a FG42 even in semi, I might rather have a FA Mac or STEN or Uzi...

these days, with the cost of ammunition being what it is, i like to take my time shooting and try to hit what i am shooting at. anyword on how well it will shoot or will it just shoot? lots of money for a replica. some of the old west replicas shoot really good which makes them attractive to me. i would like to have a FG42 semi but only if it will shoot consistent. - matt

Matt you should know it is from one of our mutual heroes, "suport the tax base" is classic Pat Buchanan-speak

, meaning buying American supports the jobs of other Americans, so they can pay into the system and not be forced to depend on it.
Fully auto is nice but (what nearly 12 states) some states do not even allow Class III, so the FG42 may have a lot of promise in those places

OK, You got me there!

No doubt... for some reason I thought Bil had wrote that so I did not think about it any more.
All that means is you need to move!
Somehow I doubt that FG42 will be a target rifle Matt. If thats what you are looking for, you will probably be able to buy 7 new hunting rifles for the price of one FG42. Oh and all my bullets hit the target! Its just at a rate of 650 per min!
Don't get me wrong, I would love one but it will have to be at the right price and the first model!

Hi,
And thanks for all the replies! We understand it has to work, look great, be reliable, be accurate, etc etc etc and be priced "right" to be marketable - and be the right model for the right person. Therefore, we also know there are a whole lot of people they will not fit - thats a given and we have to accept that. We are just going to try to hit enough marks to make enough sales to keep it alive until things get better and more people can afford them.
Things they will never be: A target rifle. The originals off the line were battle accurate from what I have read (3 inches at 100yds) and the ones with scopes weren't "sniper" rifles - but "marksmans" rifles. They will never be in the "AK" price range - just isn't going to happen - thats just the reality of it. We are building the 2nd model first and may build first models if we sell enough second models to merit the development/tooling etc money.
What they will be: Cool cool cool - did I say they will be cool yet? I mean they look and feel awesome in your hands. They shoot an 8mm 198 grain bullet with the recoil of an AK - least our's does this. Will wow ANYONE that sees it in your possession and has a clue what it is. Will cost as much or more yes, than a stack of AK's or a few good AR15's or a good .50. Cool costs and we are trying to deliver your monies worth! Did I say this is an EXPENSIVE BIG project? NO parts/parts kits. No blueprints etc etc etc. We have just wanted one for a long time and this is our only way of getting one. Just don't have the money for a "real" one.
Did I say post sample select fire rifles for those qualified after we build a few semi autos and get our feet back underneath us?
And yes - my rant on "buy American" has no political bent - just saying I would rather be driving old Fords and Chevy's that need a valve job every 60,000 miles and built with Pennsylvania steel and seeing my neighbor at that vacation spot rather than driving a really nice Jap car and everything else from China and living poorly in a country largely backed buy Chinese and foreign money. Sorry - I am doing it again. I think our hearts are all in the same place here. Good luck and a bright future to us all is what I wish!

Hi all,
We just listed the last production rifle out of the last production run on gunbroker.com as item # 268729518 and will end on 01-15-12 and is a way to get one without waiting on the list!
I do understand this is a blatent example of what you are not supposed to do on some sites but many had ask about the next one - just trying to get the word out. Not trying to get kicked from the site.
