my new German guns

Post by Embalmer »

After selling most of my collection a few years ago, to fund a custody fight for my boy, im happy to have some German arms back on the wall of the armory.

My "byf" 43 k-98. I know not many people like Mitchells Mausers for this and that, but for the 500 I paid for the specific maker, and german marks intact, was worth it for a refurbed ready to go shooter. Before I get flamed for buying a mitchells mauser let me explain I know its a parts gun, and I am refinishing the bolt and buttplate to be the same color as rest of the gun. I went with them as all the RC's ive seen in the last 4 months were pitted to hell, german marks peened or grounded off, barrels were sewer pipes, or all of the above. The all matching k98's have skyrocketed in price, and would feel guilty shooting it if I got one. Least this one looks great, mostly correct, and a mint bore and can shoot the hell out of it guilt free.

Hey well done, nothing like a true Mauser from Oberndorf "Byf" to bring a little happiness, in this case happiness comes in threes 8)

I prefer my RC 98k too, I know if it could talk it was "there" a total mismatch with many Gew 98 parts, lots of character :D

No k43 (yet) last time I bought one 8 years ago, got it for 1200 bucks. cant believe the prices of them now

I think I did well on the 3 I found. Tryng to convince wifey to let me dip into the vacation fund to get some ammo to go try em all out

Actually think the next item im going to try to get is either another tnw mg34, or try to get a 42 kit, and have someone build it into a semi.

Forgot how fun was to collect things, as its been a long 4 years lol
