Ok guys, you asked for it you got it!!
For all of you with an MG15 kit this is the place we need to get started with ideas to get these things together. I am planning on getting a receiver from Wiselite arms at knob creek next month and will start figuring out what needs to be done todo a semi. I have 2 kits and really want to get this thing working.

This is a great idea! With everyones help this should be a winner. The MG15 is a cool german MG, and it needs its own space :)

7.62 x 51 (Orin Harding) has a knockout ATF approved receiver for the MG15. I've seen it, and it's a fine looking piece of machining.

No semi design has ever been approved. So I don't know if any of these receivers were ever used. From my understanding, they would have needed the final interenal machine work and then hardening. Its one of the few semi autos that never went anywhere...

True - Several have worked on a semi design but to my knowledge no one has ever submitted one to ATF for classification.

Partially correct - FA blocking design would need to be incorporated and bolt bore would need to be opened. Hardening would not be needed. Original receivers were tested and found to be about Rockwell C12. My receivers were made from 4140 Chrome molly with a Rockwell of about C28. If I make more receivers they will be made from 41L40 to reduce cutting tool wear.

Note: 41L40 cannot be blued (well, you can but finish will be kinda purple in color) so finish will need to be as the originals - Park then painted black.

Orin
