Repainted and missing the eye cup.
A few years ago this was work a few Hundred at best. Today these seem to get crazy prices at times. However I would not put a large value on it.
Also, what makes you say interwar? Does it not have a "K" marked on the back bottom above the dovetail?

Comes with the gun. Color? The one in Dolf's book appears to be a light color as well but I do not plan on keeping it so off to Ebay it goes when it gets here.

This reminds me more of a 1950s typewriter color.

Assuming it does have the necessary 'K' i think this colour is still good for WWI. Only because a couple of my zfs are this colour, as are others that are differing shades of green and black. So who knows....could be originally WWI and re-painted afterwards!

We still do not have a definitive answer.
Are we saying black sights are not WWI and that this 'lighter' shade is only after WWI? If this is a 're-paint, whatever that means, it still looks like a factory job.
Where is our optics expert?
