Getting our 1914 impression together!
Getting our 1914 impression together!
Hi all, we are trying to get our 1914 impression together for the centennial. We're planning to bring out the 08 on the sled, but one thing we have always been looking for other than the cylindrical water can, is the MG 08 crew drag straps. A company in Russia used to make a replica of them, Does anyone know of getting originals or replicas out there?
Re: Getting our 1914 impression together!
Have you tried:
1: Great-War-Militaria (?) (Rick-Keller's old store in Chambersburg, PA.)....he may have contacts in France that would know who/where as this is WWI gear.
2: Post a WTB ad over on the "Sturm.-Board"....either NFA For-Sale.....or in the Collector's-Section.
3: Post an ad (WTB....) on the Forum-Board at "On-The-Wire". (another WWI Forum.).
4: E-Mail the German "DWJ" Magazine's "Ads-Section" for buying WTB Ads. They have people that speak some English and can help you to place an ad....not very expensive.
5: Contact the owner of the Museum in Bosie-Idaho (Hayes Outopalic---spelling???)....he has a vast collection of US mostly....but some German ...and may know a contact for reproduction items over seas.....(?).
6: Contact some of the reenacting groups over in England through some of the WWII-Forums........they'll help you with contact information.....and maybe know exactly where to get these MG08 Drag-Straps......(?).
I could keep going...but you get the idea.
How is that sled mount that I sold you years ago treating you (?).
