Recently acquired a Gurtfuller 16 which is missing its handle, can some of you that are lucky enough to own a complete unit please post some detailed pics of the handles? Or if you have the time I would really appreciate some measurements so I can try and make a replacement....unless someone happens to have a spare handle residing in some box somewhere??

Best Regards and happy new year

Andrew

Sorry the site cropped most of the handle out. If you don't get any info by next week I will get it for you when I'm back to where the loader is.

Andrew and Fishpaw. I eventually won the belt loader, pieces, box etc. Over the expected price limit of cse but that is the way of auctions. Anyway it has spare handles and I knew fellow collectors are looking for some of the smaller pieces so stby. I only need one complete set so there are some spares.
Of cse if I don't sell the spares then that would be very funny! :cheer:

Awaiting the package so do not know in detail what is what. Has anyone ever taken a belt loader apart for cleaning or maintenance?

I need to dismantle mine too. For some reason, one of the two little nubs that fit the holes in the belt have been removed on my gurtfuller. Im going to try to fix it.

If an entire row has been removed then it sounds like one of the beltloaders IMA sold that was modified by the turks to load the aluminum belts. If so there are a lot more things missing from it than just a row of posts. It will also be missing the knife that opens the pocket, the gear for the knife, and the spring loaded jaws that grasp the belt. It will also have had an additional piece of metal attached to the backside of the drum which looks like a sprocket to keep the aluminum belts from sliding rearward. If this is the case the best thing is to buy some aluminum turk belts and use them because it is no way cost effective to convert it back. here is a pic of a n unmodified one. Look at the area around the back of the drum and the jaws attached to the back where the knife emerges from and twists to open the pocket of the fabric belts.

If anyone has a spare pick, the wood egg shaped tool with metal picks coming out both ends, I'd sure like to hear from you as I need one. Thanks
